Don’t talk to me about COMMUNICATION!
How often have you heard “You should have told me.”
Or “We should have discussed this!”
Or “Who said you could do that?”
Or more ominously “We need to talk!”
Too often we compromise ourselves and others by simply not considering the need to share information or engage in dialogue.
How many problems or difficult situations could have been avoided if we just paused for a moment and thought through the implications of not having that necessary conversation?
The recent restrictions limiting access to social and work interactions have highlighted how dependant we are on having the opportunity to discuss not just critical issues but being able to share thoughts and simply just chat with family and colleagues.
So what lessons have been learned and what will we do differently as we begin to return to the workplace and enjoy social gatherings?
