Colours and Emotions

In the current COVID19 environment we are surrounded by rainbows of every size and imaginative construction. They cheer us and reflect our support for key workers. Each of the colours in the rainbow spectrum evoke particular emotions or feelings that brands exploit. Here are some examples:

Virgin Media uses RED to suggest excitement, youth, confidence, urgency, passion, importance.

EasyJet uses ORANGE to suggest play, energy, economic, excitement, enthusiasm, change.

Mr Happy is YELLOW evoking happiness, friendship, laughter, warmth, optimism.

John Deere uses GREEN which we associate with nature stability, growth, health, envy, tranquility.

Ford uses BLUE evoking serenity, trust, engaging, calmness, lyalty, truth.

Cadbury is associated with INDIGO/VIOLET evoking luxury, royalty, creativity, imagination, sophistication, exotic.
