Mind the Skills Gap
There have been numerous articles and much media attention focussed on the skills gaps being experienced across a broad range of business sectors. This has highlighted the technical skills demanded by manufacturing, construction and service industries amongst others.
However, business leaders have also identified a range of essential skills demanded to ensure positive progress of individuals and companies.
These skills include but not necessarily limited to leadership, communication, creative problem solving and strategic thinking. Skills not readily taught but developed through experience and intuition. We need to provide opportunities for these skills to be learned and developed in a safe but challenging environment. But how should this be accomplished?
