How Confident are you with Business Growth in 2025?

After the recent UK budget any optimism for business growth has rapidly evaporated

A comprehensive survey identified the challenges identified by SMEs striving to create business growth.

• energy prices

• competition and taxation

• staff recruitment and skills

• regulations and red tape

• the UK’s exit from the EU

• late payment

More than half of those surveyed identified the rising costs of running their business had affected their plans for capital investment, staff recruitment, developing and launching new products or services.

Around a third cited expectation of further cost increases will inhibit future growth.

Not all was doom and gloom, over 80% of businesses surveyed in the following sectors were profitable,

• professional and scientific

• finance and real estate

• information and communications

• construction

• agriculture
